Playtech’s Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2-Themed Custom Gaming PC

When the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 hit the scene with its explosive action and intense gameplay, we felt inspired to craft something truly unique. The result? A one-of-a-kind showpiece gaming PC, designed to capture the essence of the Warhammer 40k universe and demonstrate our advanced 3D printing and UV printing capabilities.

Bringing Warhammer’s Universe to Life in a Gaming PC

We wanted this custom build to be more than just a high-performance machine—it had to embody the brutal and epic nature of Warhammer 40,000. Our workshop got to work, taking inspiration from the game's iconic Space Marines and rich visual style.

The first element we created was the stunning stained glass side panel. We’d been developing this concept during the creation of our cathedral-themed gaming system, and we knew it would be a perfect fit for the gothic aesthetic of this project.

The intricate cathedral design was reworked to feature one of the legendary Space Marines, whose imposing presence captures the power and glory of the Warhammer 40k universe.

Next, we wanted the front panel to make a bold statement. Drawing inspiration from the battle-hardened atmosphere of the game, we designed a “fire alarm" style cabinet, housing an iconic Space Marine bolt pistol. This nod to Warhammer lore brings both functionality and fun to the build, giving the front panel an industrial, battlefield feel.

The cabinet features the words printed in a gothic style old English font "In case of Heresy, Break Glass" However, we wouldn't actually recommend trying to break the glass as it's a tempered glass panel that is surprisingly strong! 

For the back and top panels we created a custom legion banner based on the Ultra Marine aesthetic, reimagining it for this build as "Legio Playtech." This design was printed on the rear and top of the chassis, with the top print applied directly onto the removable magnetic mesh, which means it can be easily lifted off for dust cleaning.

To bring these intricate designs to life, we loaded them into our 10-headed Large Scale UV printer. The result? A vibrant, hard-wearing print that covers the entire chassis, ensuring the visuals stay as powerful as the PC itself. The UV printing process not only adds stunning detail but also guarantees the durability required for an intense gaming setup.

3D Printing: Crafting the Space Marine’s Arsenal

Once the UV printing was complete, we moved on to the 3D printing phase. We meticulously measured, modeled, and printed both the cabinet and the pistol to fit perfectly behind the tempered glass front panel. After the prints were finished—an effort that took about a day—we hand-painted them to reflect the grimdark aesthetic that Warhammer 40k is known for, using black and grey tones with carefully applied gold accents.

We then added another layer of depth by incorporating A-RGB LED lighting, embedded in an internal track within the cabinet. The lights, paired with a transparent 3D-printed diffuser, give the pistol a sci-fi display case feel, as though it’s mounted on the wall of a battle barge in deep space. For easy access during maintenance, the cabinet is mounted to the panel with heavy-duty Velcro strips.

 Final Touches: The Purity Seal

No Warhammer build would be complete without a Purity Seal—a symbol of faith and honor in the game’s universe. We 3D printed this piece using red PLA, then added a dark red acrylic wash for depth and texture before sealing it with a clear coat for a polished, waxy look. To enhance the authenticity, we UV-printed the text and graphics onto scrolls of undyed linen fabric, adding printed wear and tear around the edges for that battle-worn aesthetic.
